Welcome to our website. We have been actively breeding/exhibiting silkie, silkie satin and coronet guinea pigs for approximately 7 years. We are affiliated with the American Rabbit Breeders Assoc., American Cavy Breeders Assoc., Mid-Atlantic Cavy Breeders Assoc., New York State Cavy Fanciers, and the Ontario Cavy Club. We exhibit our cavies at about 20-25 shows per year. We keep pedigrees and names on each cavy, but do not ship at this time. We are an ACBA registered caviary known as Keegan's Kaper Kritters.
Kaper or caper is defined in Webster's dictionary as: 1. "to leap; to skip; to jump about in a playful manner" (Describing the pigs when they are healthy and happy.) 2. "a wild foolish action; to do something ridiculous" (Describing us breeding/exhibiting guinea pigs.)
Either way, it seemed befitting --
although Mike has been known to fit description # 1 more appropriately on various occasions.

RIS at the 2002 ACBA Specialty Show with a broken Coronet boar (Perseus)
Our TSW coronet sow (Lilliput) is pictured in the 2001-2005 ARBA Standard of Perfection and is also shown on our business card.

Breeding/exhibiting longhaired cavies is time-consuming and a lot of hard work, but it’s the friends we’ve made and the good times we’ve had along the way that make it all worthwhile
(and that would be another whole story!).
